The golden honey comb back ground serves as a divine protection around each of these women and their children, the deep oranges in the sunflowers represent the sun kissed hills of free and safe and united life, they represent prayers answered, success and safety and connections that can never be broken.
This painting is inspired by all of the Native and Indigenous Women that go missing by the thousands throughout this country as well as in many other locations around the world. It is also inspired by the women and children that are running for a new life in any safe location, separated by ego driven wars and violence.
Proceeds from sales of this painting and prints will be donated to Native American and indigenous missing women’s organizations.
